S Fresh - His name is straightforward and effortless like his music and swag.
As an artist, producer and CEO of So Slimm Entertainment, rapper S. Fresh is arguably one of the hardest working names in the business. The Grambling State honor’s graduate launched his entertainment empire in 2000 with the hopes of being a silent boss however as fate would have it, he emerged from behind the desk to step behind the m-i-c.The Shreveport, LA native, whose moniker derives from his nickname Slim (S) and his ability to stay fashionably clean (Fresh), is poised to make a major impact on the music scene. S. Fresh has collaborated with some of the hottest rappers in the industry, everyone from Southern contemporaries like Juvenile and Webbie to East Coast artists like Jim Jones.
The charismatic and talented wordsmith has plenty of passion and takes several artistic risks. While S. Fresh doesn’t subscribe to one particular sound or style, he does carve an identity for himself by creating mostly feel-good music. On his rock solid debut album “Heart of Da City, he delivered a likeable mix of club tales and raw street anthems, as well as aggressive, socially-charged compositions that make every warning and boast he rhymes completely convincing. His smash first single “Shawty Really Love It,” featured a hyperactive blend of crunk chants and apocalyptic 808 bass. On his new single "Ask Dem" featuring Lil’ Boosie, the southern MC parlays that same energy which has helped him gain significant buzz in the online hip-hop community.
Having opened for an impressive list of heavyweights, some of which include Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, and Plies, the refreshing MC is the rising new hip-hop star to watch. It’s his engaging personality and boyish good looks that get him noticed but it’s his captivating lyrics coupled with his unique delivery that will gain the respect and attention of the masses. “I pride myself on making quality music; music with substance. With every song and album, I strive to make it a classic so that you can pop in 10 years from now. I’m bringing something fresh in the game and I want people to feel my story.” Innovative, entrepreneurial and creative, appropriately define his wink-and-a-nod thug persona and if S. Fresh has it his way, he will be dominating the urban music landscape and winning over audiences for years to come.
