DC-Based independent recording artist Daniel “Nadiel” Levy has premiered the music video for his single “Make a Mil,” on Youtube and Facebook on May 30. “Make a Mil” is the first single from his forthcoming sophomore EP, due out later this summer.
The video, directed by Zack David Films, introduces Nadiel inside a gritty motel scene where he sits alone facing his deepest fears and financial setbacks. The treatment follows his journey as he develops as an artist and businessman despite the odds and stigmas placed upon him. Some scenes offer comedic relief as Nadiel makes light of the exorbitant displays of girls and money most artists use as a marketing strategy. The song is a frustrated and relatable battle cry for anyone struggling to pursue their passion in the face of enormous skepticism, scrutiny, or limitations due to race, creed, or past discretions.
“Make a Mil” was written by “Dazed Beats” and produced by DC-based producer/engineer Christopher “Von Pimpenstein” Carter (Adrian Marcel, J. Holiday, Backstreet Boys.) Nadiel’s lyricism is notable for due to an unwavering dedication to the craft, and a courage to dive into deeper subject matters like mental health stigma, race, and materialism.
