Of "Hopes", Connor says:

"I wrote this about a girl I was on and off with even when we both knew any real substance in the relationship had been dead for a very long time.  We both had new situations and we both kept entertaining the melodrama of our interactions out of a desire to hold onto something familiar.  We did this dance for a while but truth be told we both were aware of exactly what we were doing. “Hopes” is for the people who know better but still can’t shake the what if..."
