OMB Peezy drops "Lay Down" Single, Signs with 300 Ent.

Alabama-native OMB Peezy mixes the heavily accented melodicism of Gulf Coast hip-hop with the slaps and confrontational attitude of NoCal rap, injected with a heavy dose of ice-cold bars. Looking to translate his massive grassroots following into mainstream success, OMB Peezy signs with 300 Entertainment, the label behind Migos and Fetty Wap. Signed in partnership with his current label, E-40's Sick Wid It Records, Peezy's new deal is the logical step in his evolution from an important voice in regional rap to a nationally known figure. Praised by The FADER as "the Future of Rap,"  the 20-year-old Sacramento resident is a natural born spitter, with years of freestyling experience and a supernatural sense of songcraft. Providing the connective tissue between the South and the Bay, OMB Peezy is the next to blow.

"He spit reality rap. Real ones can relate to it. Fake ones may not," explains E-40. "I always wanted to do business with Kevin Liles and Selim Bouab, who are both seasoned veterans in the game. 300’s infrastructure coupled with Sick Wid It’s legacy and game make a monsta combo.”

"I'm really excited to have OMB Peezy at 300. His music and story is so important to the culture. His sound is unlike anything you've heard right now. We want him to lead the pack of young lyricists in hip-hop today. I'm happy my brother E-40 allowed us to be a part of this." - Kevin Liles

To celebrate the new venture, OMB Peezy and 300/Sick Wid It release the official version of "Lay Down," Peezy's southern-fried, vicious breakthrough single, premiered by Pigeons & Planes. Released in December, "Lay Down" is an ideal combination of rapping and production, with Peezy spitting icy fire and layering an impossibly infectious hook over producer King Drum Dummie's fusion of Zaytoven-style piano and Bay Area bass slaps. Praised by Pigeons & Planes, who raved "the record is full of aggression, witty wordplay, and features a second verse that may be the toughest of the year so far," "Lay Down" demonstrates Peezy's vicious style and boundless charisma. Already available on YouTube and SoundCloud, where the song racked up over 1.3 million combined plays, "Lay Down" is now available to purchase and stream on the digital service provider of your choice.
