Today, with a sizable amount of momentum, rapper AR-Ab looks to take things up several notches with the new official music video for his single “No Smoke.” Having already premiered via BET Jams, the track features Grammy nominated producer Velous (Kanye West, J. Cole) and finds the pair contrasting street-edged rhymes with a bouncy hook. Directed by fellow Philadelphia native Benny Boom, the man behind the much-hyped Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me, the visual brings out refined aesthetic to Philly’s grittiness. Be on the lookout for AR-Ab’s forthcoming project titled “Road To Glory,” which is slated for release later this year via OBH Records/Sony Red.
Having been a mainstay in the Philadelphia rap scene for some years, AR-Ab is no stranger to getting things via the road less traveled. Serving as a founding member of the OBH collective, Ab was thrusted into the mainstream consciousness when he was famously name dropped on Drake’s on seminal “Back To Back.” After a short-lived affiliation Birdman’s Cash Money Records, Ab take matters into his own hands, releasing the first installment of his mixtape series titled “The Protocol. Vol.1.”
