Earth Tiger's ‘Kxrma’ has a traditional underground sound which demonstrates lyrical agility

Earth Tiger creates songs that swirl together the electrifying textures of hip-hop, big pop, rock and electro dance music into a brand-new sound. Masterminded by artist Cruz Mathews and backed behind powerhouse producers Nathan Sowter and Thomas Taylor, the group spins out clever lyrics, infectious hooks and energetic, inventive grooves that intertwine with bold bass and playful synth layers. Every Earth Tiger tune tells a story and innovates on the stylings of modern rock legends, lyrical pioneers and beat masters such as The Black Keys, Gorillaz, Mac Miller, The Pharcyde, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

Earth Tiger was dreamed up around a campfire one Christmas Eve in New Zealand, when friends Cruz Tom and Nate, decided to turn their shared passion for ‘90s and ‘00s hip hop into a musical collaboration. The team enlisted the help of friend & producer Alex Wildwood & began to engage in a series of week-long recording sessions at impromptu studios set up in exotic locales throughout the east coast of Australia. They eventually set up a home studio in a remote swamp house in the rain forest of Byron Bay, Queensland and put together their first EP ‘Holiday’.

The Ep further more succeeded with gaining #1 on the NZ urban Itunes charts with successful airplay throughout the NZ, AU and college radio in America with a small live tour of Japan. 2017 holds promise with their upcoming single “Kxrma” due out September 15th, followed by a second single “Broke and Famous” TBA later in the year.
