Prom Queen is the first single from the debut album of queer, Atlanta-based rapper NEWMONEY. The aforementioned song is a departure from the artist's previous trap-influenced singles and instead embraces poppy production courtesy of local producer/engineer Ezra. who also contributes vocals that close out the track. Lyrically, the song uses high school tropes and motifs in order to convey messages about discovering sexuality and romance during adolescence. Director Blair LeBlanc took cues from independent films, particularly 1928's The Passion of Joan of Arc, in crafting a video that is dramatic and dark. The single is now streaming on iTunes, Spotify, and the artist's Soundcloud page. His debut album, Sequin Cowboy, is now available for pre-order and releases June 30th.
