Sparkling, propulsive and R&B-influenced, it’s a yearning love song about romantic negotiations with a soaring vocal performance over gossamer synths and an 80s New Wave 808 drum pattern.

Cartaé hails from Wembley in North West London. An early love of music saw her start as a rapper before she realised her talents lay in writing songs instead. Influenced by groups like Little Dragon and Blood Orange she started writing top lines influenced by indie rock and pop.

The track was produced by her friend Ragz Originale. Alongside Oscar#worldpeace they form the affiliated crew/ label from North East London, Mini Kingz.

Ragz Originale is shaping up to be one the UK’s finest and most authentic UK production voices, having produced the hit “Shutdown” as well as “Text Me Back” and “Konnichiwa”on Skepta’s Mercury Prize winning fourth LP “Konnichiwa”. Cartaé also contributed additional vocals to “Text Me Back”. He’s also produced for CASISDEAD “What’s My Name” as well as Oscar#worldpeace ‘That’s Alright’.

‘Long Time’ premiered on Clash, it's a playful way of depicting the push and pull of a destructive relationship. Cartaé: "Love is never straight forward, there is always some bumps along the road. I think long time reminds us that moving on is just as hard as falling in love."

Cartaé and the Mini Kingz clique are a new group of authentic UK creatives with big dreams to watch in 2017.
